Weeding is probably the activity that I spend the most time on in a given week. Regardless of whether the weeds are small or large, every effort is made to get the root - the entire root - out of the ground. Mostly, this involves digging my fingers into the dirt to get a hold of as much root as I can get and then pulling slowly so as not to snap the deepest part of the root off. Sometimes it involves a garden trowel or a shovel. Unfortunately, some of the roots do snap during even the slowest, but still firm, pulling. As a rule of thumb 70-90% of the weeds I pull do include the full root. This means that some of the left behind remnants will have a chance to regrow the weed. This is best combated by regular weeding, addressed through regular maintenance visits.

Have I mentioned garden ‘rehab’ projects? I love when a potential customer reaches out and talks about their ‘embarrassing’ garden where the weeds might be so overgrown that you can’t even tell if there was a garden to begin with.

No one should be embarrassed about their overgrown garden, no matter how bad it might be. Life happens, and I don’t judge anyone for not having dealt with, or not knowing how to deal with, their garden. Especially once it’s gotten out of hand. If it takes me, say, 15 hours to clean it up then how long might it take them? Particularly with an already busy schedule. Let me take care of it!

Above is an extreme example. You couldn't even see half of what was behind all of the overgrowth! I love taking what you see in the left photo and transforming it into the "after" on the right. So amazing and so satisfying!
